  • Archaeological Museum of Sparta, founded in 1874. It has exhibits from prehistoric-Archaic-Classical and Roman period and significant Laconic monuments.

  • The Acropolis of Sparta, was discovered relatively recently by archaeologists around the world and includes the ancient theater and the Sanctuary of Athena Chalkioikos, a temple dedicated to the goddess Athena.
  • Ancient Theatre of Sparta, located in the southwestern part of the Acropolis just below the temple of Athena. It is one of the biggest ancient theaters of antiquity.
  • Mystras with its Castlecity called Kastropoliteia and its Archaeological Museum, built at the foot of Taygetos, part of the Despotate of Morea, the development center of the area and a place with a great history. The museum was founded in 1951 and includes sculptures, coins, textiles and organic materials.

  • The Leonidaion with the bones of Leonidas, near the cenotaph in an impressive edifice.
  • MENELAION a shrine in honor of Menelaus and Helen in the THERAPNON, southeast of Sparta.
  • The Amykleion, located 5 km south of Sparta that hosts the shrine of the god Apollo.
  • The Temple of Artemis, east of the Bridge of the River Eurotas, an extremely sacred and important Temple for the region at that time.
  • The Temple of Apollo Amyklaios at the hill of Agia Kyriaki with some findings that combine the Doric with the Ionic style, the actual reason why it is so important.
  • The Baths of Arapissas a complex of Roman baths in the southwestern side of the citadel.
  • The Sanctuary of Athena Chalkioikos, large and important temple of ancient Sparta. The goddess took her name from copper plates that were there. In the sanctuary many important events were held.
  • The tomb of Vafeou, near Amykles, a vaulted tomb with a huge archaeological importance for Greece, as the 2 gold cups gave international fame to the monument.
  • Keadas, a cave near the area of Tripi presenting a gulch with human bones.
